Biography

Born in 1979 in Eaubonne (France, 95) where she completed her first years of violin studies at the City Music School, at the time managed by Claude Hérouin, she has quickly joined the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris (Paris High Music School), at the National Music School of St Maur where she got the 1st prize (1998) in violin and at the National High School of Music of Bobigny she got the 1st prize in Chamber Music, in the Claude Burgos class.

The following year, she worked with Zakhar Bron, M. Venguerov and V. Repine teacher, and came to the National Orchestra of the Madrid Department and participated in the Spanish Television Orchestra.

Colette Babiaud also has played in soloist at the National Auditorium of Madrid in the Maria Manchado plays (modern creations).

In 2002, she got the 1st prize Pablo de Sarasate and the the Teaching Certificate in violin (CA). Colette Babiaud has been soloist in the Andaloucía Philharmonic Orchestra, with which she has recently played the concerto n°5 of Mozart in a lot of spanish cities. (Sevilla and Cadix Cathedrals, Rincon de la Victoria, Malaga, ...).

Colette Babiaud played in soloist the Beethoven concerto, with the Eaubonne Lyre Amicale (France, 95) and the Lisbonna Orchestra in 2006 and 2010. She has also played the J. Brahms concerto in 2011 with the Eaubonne Lyre Amicale. In Recife (Brasil), she has played the 4 Vivaldi Seasons in duet with Joseph Colom.

In 2010 and 2011, Colette Babiaud participated at the "Baños de la encima" festival, and performed the integral of the J. Brahms sonatas during the international festival of Ùbeda. In 2011, Colette Babiaud played at the Linares festival, during the bicentenary of Andrés Segovia.

Now, she is teaching violin in Jeres de la Frontera (Espagne) and also participates in the Granada Orchestra (Spain), under the direction of J.J. Kantorow.
